Application Engineer
Our client, a leading international industrial company, is looking for a technically skilled and entrepreneurial Automation / Business Development Engineer to strengthen their European engineering and customer solutions team within the automotive sector.
The role combines technical project leadership, process development, and customer management — an ideal fit for an engineer with both a hands-on and strategic mindset who enjoys connecting technology with business value.
Main responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate technical projects from concept through implementation, working closely with customers, suppliers, and automation integrators.
- Design and develop application processes for automation and production line solutions used in industrial and automotive environments.
- Serve as a technical interface between engineering, production, and business stakeholders, ensuring smooth process integration and optimization.
- Work directly with line managers and process engineers to identify efficiency improvements and implement practical solutions.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and technical partners during prototype and serial production phases.
- Support technical benchmarking and product development discussions, providing insights to internal and external teams.
- Deliver technical presentations and trainings to customers and internal colleagues when needed.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in product development, process engineering, automation, or production environments – ideally in the automotive industry.
- Experience managing multiple technical stakeholders (customers, suppliers, integrators).
- Knowledge of automation systems, production processes, and CAD tools; experience with SPS / robot programming is a strong advantage.
- Entrepreneurial, business development-oriented mindset with strong technical curiosity.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Fluent in English, and basic German skills required.
